Dennis Michael Cook "Denny"


Vocals, Bass, Keyboards... the Original Hubcap... this is where the "Harvey" you've been looking for has been hiding... Dennis Michael Cook was born on October 15, 1948 at Georgetown Hospital in Washington DC. A graduate of Northwestern H.S. class of 1966 and Columbia school of Broadcasting in 1968. Denny was a year around player in Boy’s Club activities and won MVP awards in Baseball, Basketball and Football. Denny also made the Varsity team at Northwestern H.S. Along with Sports “THERE WAS MUSIC”. In 1956 at the age of 8 years old a friend came by and asked if he would come down to his house and listen to a 45rpm record. The song was Hound Dog by Elvis. Denny’s parents Eddie and Rita at this time were the proud parents of 5 children and on their way to 8 children so the luxury of a record player would not surface for Denny until Christmas 1960. His family did have a TV set and he did see 'The King' on the Ed Sullivan show. He 'owned' the TV set after school and grew up with American Bandstand, Buddy Dean, Milt Grant, and when the younger siblings wanted the set, he was on the playing field. Denny has performed with One Band. In 1974 he joined "Harvey Hubcap and the Do Ron Ron" as a bass player and later went out front as a lead vocalist. As we approach the year 2017, we all hope with the grace from above to continue performing with “THE FABULOUS HUBCAPS”, a band consisting of some of the greatest talent in this country.

In a typical Hubcaps show, you not only hear the best of the “Classics”, but you see many of your favorite artists dressed in costume, delivering to you a dynamic show, the best on tour...  Where else can you see Elvis, Little Richard, Connie Francis, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, The Platters, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, Junior Walker, The Temptations, Tina Turner, Patsy Cline, The Flamingos, Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs, The Jive Five, and so many more artists appearing on one stage in a single night for your total enjoyment..?  Only The Hubcaps can perform such a unique and spirited show..!  The Fabulous Hubcaps are committed to taking you there again and again, as you can never get your fill of your first love...

In 2023 and beyond, The Hubcaps will take the stage with original artist “Denny Cook” backed up by the best complement of singers and musicians ever presented during the 49 year run of this Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame inductee and 2015 MEHF Vocal Group of The Year...  We are still not sure just who has the better time, the audience or the band, but who cares, as it’s an entertainment love fest...  Whether you catch up to us in  Ocean City, MD & Rehoboth Beach, DE this summer, the casinos of the mid-Atlantic States, or in your favorite venue in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, or beyond, the party starts with you and is all about you, our incredible fans...  You are always part of the act and we appreciate you so much...  Swing dance, do the Twist, the Stroll, the Locomotion, the Cha Cha, the Jitterbug, dance real slow, or just go crazy..!
